Valerie Chou, MD
Dr. Valerie Chou started working with Downtown Women OB/GYN in September 2024. A Westchester and New York CIty area native, she began her educational journey at the University of Chicago, where she obtained a BA in Biology and East Asian History. She then obtained a Masters in Human Nutrition at Columbia University before attending medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She completed her residency at Richmond University Medical Center on Staten Island before finally returning to Manhattan.
Dr. Chou has always had a passion for women’s healthcare, forming meaningful connections with people, and helping to take care of others. She found a way to integrate these passions into a career as a generalist OBGYN. In particular, she has an interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, family planning, and all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. She also enjoys integrating her nutrition knowledge into her work. In her free time, Dr. Chou enjoys reading books, listening to a wide range of music, and being a loving cat-mom.
